Orders For Protection

Your safety is a priority. If you are in relationship where domestic abuse has occurred, or you are in a relationship that is violent, or has become violent, you can ask the Court for help and protection. A order for protection is a civil court order that can protect you, and your children, from your abuser.  In certain situations, an Order for Protection can help you  and order the other party to refrain from committing violent acts, having contact with you, come to your home, work or school, provide for temporary custody and restricting parenting time, and establish temporary financial support.
